The Thinking Room by White Rabbit

The Thinking Room by White Rabbit is an atypical escape room. As a matter of fact, some purists might argue that it is not an escape room at all. Anyway the idea behind this game is quite stunning: there is only one physical room with a single piece of furniture in the middle of it.

You will spend 60 minutes inside this room trying to solve all the enigmas and jigsaw puzzles… if you are able to find them first! There is no game master in between so you cannot ask for hints or anything. You will only have a time counter that will let you know how time you have left and a white board where you will be able to make your calculations and write down your notes, etc.

The whole room is super minimalist, there are only the objects already mentioned. Everything is painted in white, which makes it aesthetically very powerful. Given that you won’t get any hints you will have to squeeze your brain in order to solve this game.

It is designed for 1 or 2 people. In one of the groups we got stuck in the first enigma and we spent there half an hour but the rest was much more fluent. The others started very quickly and got stuck in the middle but they managed to escape on time.

If you want to test your skills and you are tired of getting too many hints by the game masters when doing other escape rooms don’t think it twice, The Thinking Room by White Rabbit is your game. However, please note that only a 20% of the players manage to solve this challenge on time.

So far this has been the first and last room of this type that we have played because we don’t know others like this. Hopefully we will find more in the future because we really enjoyed the experience.

If The Thinking Room was a restaurant it would be a minimalist Japanese one with a refined and very visual cuisine.

Strengths

  • Originality.
  • The visual aspect.
  • The lack of hints.
Weaknesses

  • How to proceed if you get stuck in any enigma.

If you manage to escape from The Thinking Room you can complete your plan as follows:

Eat
Alt Heidelberg

Ronda Universitat 5, Barcelona

Classical hotdog place in town where you’ll also be able to eat traditional German dishes with wide selection of beers. We recommend the meat pie, the anchovy canapé, slice bread sandwiches and any of their sausages, served both as a sandwich or in a plate.

Eat
Yakumanka

Carrer de València 207, Barcelona

Peruvian cuisine by the famous chef Gastón Acurio. Excellent dishes, it’s worth mentioning the ceviche, the tiradito from Lima or the fish of the day. We recommend also the drinks they prepare such as Chicha Morada or the Pisco Sour. Very good quality but not suitable for all budgets.

Snack
La Valenciana

Carrer d’Aribau 16, Barcelona

One of the best orxata / horchata (tiger nut milk) places in town where you can find tiger nut milk with sugar or sugarless during the whole year. We also recommend their pastries such as croissants or Majorca ensaimadas, the Christmas panettone, the handmade ice-cream or the cold sandwiches.
