Prisioners of Alkaban by Maximum Escape

In this escape room we merged ourselves into the famous magical prison of Alkaban (no, there’s no typo). We are a group of wizards that dared doing some magic in front of humans.

To begin with the intro by the game master is correct without being anything extraordinary. He simply tells you the story and that’s it.

The room decorations is spectacular, almost at the level of a theme park. It clearly shows that they made an important investment in this escape room. Moreover, multiple special effects complete the experience.

The games are varied and use technology in a smart way although not all of them completely fit into the story that is being told. In any case you spend quite some entertained time.

When you finish the room the get the feeling of having experienced a magnificent atmosphere, a game that could have been outstanding but that lacks soul.

This escape room is like one of those creative dishes with spectacular looks but lacking some taste.

  • The atmosphere.

  • The lack of warmth.

If you manage to escape from Alkaban you can complete your plan as follows:

Fratelli La Bufala

Carrer Pau Claris 72, Barcelona

You’ll be surprised by the amount of dishes that can be made with buffalo mozzarella. Everything is very nice from their salads to the pasta and pizza dishes in this welcoming restaurant.

They are a chain with restaurants all over Europe but you feel like in a family-owned restaurant because of their service and quality of the ingredients.

Honey B

Carrer Sant Pere Més Baix 36, Barcelona

Cake shop where you can find Japanese, Mexican, gluten free or traditional sweets.

We are going to share a secret of the Foodinis: here they make the matcha ice-cream that is served in El Mosquito. You won’t see any advertising or menu, you need to ask for it, and it happens to be one of the best in town. For just €1.5 the scoop it’s a bargain of high quality.

Le Cucine Mandarosso

Carrer de Verdaguer i Callís 4, Barcelona

Mini Italian restaurant hidden in a small alley that leads to Palau de la Música. Excellent home-made pasta and amazing desserts. It’s not a venue suitable for big groups but it is ideal for about 4 people. The afternoon menu from Monday to Friday is especially good and cheap considering the quality of their dishes.

You can’t miss a visit to Emporio that is about 30 meters away, a small embassy that allows you to take home the flavors from Italy.
