Mafia by Chicken Banana, even though it has some years in its back, has been a model for other rooms on how to prepare and involve players into the plot a few days before the game.
Actually, Mafia was one of the first rooms using a presentation video as a trailer.
It’s probably the easiest and most traditional room in Chicken Banana. It is a good game for beginners, even without the use of technology or wow effect. An interesting point is that communication with the game master is done via SMS messages from a mobile phone, so you don’t rush that much to ask for clues.
The atmosphere is nicely done, but you can tell it is a few years old. The competition is working hard to decorate the new rooms, so this would probably be the first Chicken Banana room to be renovated.
The game master that we got was somewhat weaker than the one in La Prisión and Psiquiatría, but that’s what happens in the rooms that have more than one game. You never know if you are going to get a true escapist as a game master.
In general, the enigmas are easy, but that doesn’t mean the team has time to rest! The game is quite intense and we managed to escape with one clue just when we had no minutes left.
We recommend this room for beginners who want to discover the world of escape rooms.
- The Chicken Banana brand guarantees a good variety of enigmas.
- The game master.
If you manage to escape from Mafia you can complete your plan as follows:
Carrer de Sepúlveda 42, Barcelona
A charming tavern run with a very special attention by a Japanese couple, Sachiko and Koji. With only four tables and the bar, it is not an ideal place to go in large groups.
The lunch menu is highly recommended and includes miso soup, salad, main course and dessert.
Carrer de la Concòrdia 21, Barcelona
An old tavern serving the best rabbit dish in Barcelona. Rustic space that offers homemade food and good rations. It also has a good variety of wines. Ideal for groups.
Xixbar Gin Corner
Carrer de Rocafort 19, Barcelona
Right in front of Chicken Banana is one of the best gin and tonic bars in town.
An ideal place to try one of the dozens of varieties of this cocktail while waiting to go for dinner at a nearby restaurant or after escaping… We do not recommend drinking alcohol before playing an escape room!
