El Paquete de la Bruja (The Witch’s Package in Spanish) offers a black magic workshop where you can study the art of voodoo, tarot, runes, potions or spells. It is a room for large groups, up to 25 people, in which players can form teams of up to 5 people and compete against each other.
This is an escape hall, i.e. the whole game is played in the same room, there is no need to escape from any room. The enigmas, however, are quite similar to those of any escape room, as you will have to use logic and observation to solve them. The great advantage for the owners of this type of game is that it requires much less investment than a normal escape, so perhaps we will see a proliferation of such rooms in the coming years.
It was our second escape hall, after Moorder by Golden Pop. While we had a good time, we have to confess that we prefer the classic escape rooms. An escape hall is more like a board game. It’s fun to pass the time, but we prefer the adrenaline and surprise of a good escape room. On this occasion two Foodinis joined many other groups of escapists (El Quinto Elemento, Las Rubias también Escapan, Room Adictos, Room Bachata Escape, Los Cylons, Galifardeus SKPistas and Los Desconocidos) until we reached 25 people. We had a good time together.
The game master did his job well, he organized the five groups of 5 players and gave us the capes and decoration elements to have a more immersive experience. He then assigned a table for each group where we would have to solve all the enigmas from boxes with locks, books and objects related to magic. The space was quite dark, which allowed two things: on the one hand, “to create an atmosphere”, although it didn’t allow us to see almost anything, and, on the other hand, to save a lot of money on decoration.
We liked the enigmas quite a lot considering the type of game. They were very logical, varied and flowed smoothly. Perhaps the use of locks was abused a bit, but we understand that in an escape hall this is not a problem.
El Paquete de la Bruja would be like traditional tapas: chips, olives and beers. Ideal to go out with friends as a prelude to a good dinner.
- The jigsaw puzzles.
- The atmosphere could be better thought out.
If you manage to successfully finish the workshop El Paquete de la Bruja you can complete your plan as follows:
Carretera de la Bordeta 52, Barcelona
Pub where you can eat good German sausages and hamburgers and where you can enjoy an informal atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the place is usually frequented by tourists. Good quality at a reasonable price.
Carrer del Callao 12, Barcelona
Korean restaurant that offers traditional and slightly spicy food at a good price. The staff is very friendly and it isn’t unusual to see a few Korean customers among the guests. We recommend the battered chicken!
