Beware of darkness, it is full of fantastic beings and monsters. Yes, those monsters you believed existed when you were a child, turn out to be real, so do not laugh, just take it seriously or you will regret it. Darnkess by Maximum Escape is a trip towards your childhood, it will wake up your memories and feelings from your childhood when you were in the shadows.
The latest room from the Maximum Escape company in Barcelona has opted for something very different. It is not a typical escape room, forget about any other experience in other rooms because it does not look like anything you’ve played before. The touch and hearing are going to play a fundamental role during your adventure, without them you will not be able to succeed.
The way in which the game master “enters” the game is very effective and one of the most original we have seen. Her role is key in this experience, as she will be your guide in this new unknown world. In our case Ana accompanied us and provided us with the necessary help in its proper measure and always with tons of humor.
The enigmas in this room are different and more reminiscent of adventure games than a pure escape room. They unfold quite fluently, fit well in the story and help its development.
Finally, there are two important aspects to consider. First of all, it’s not a scary game. It would only be unsuitable for someone who has a phobia of darkness, since the game happens completely in the dark. Secondly, it requires a lot of physical agility, so it is not a suitable room for those who have some kind of mobility problem.
This is a room that awakens your senses beyond sight. It’s like one of those restaurants where you eat in the dark, a cognitive experience.
- Game master.
- It requires a LOT of physical agility.
And, if you manage to escape from Darkness, you can complete your plan as follows:
Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt 74, Barcelona
Beautiful retro place with stone walls that serves market food. You won’t be able to stop eating their bravas, and the fried yucca with wasabi sauce is spectacular.
Plaça de Sant Pere 11, Barcelona
This place located in one of the busiest squares of the Sant Pere neighborhood is ideal for eating piadinas made with love. They have different types of dough (original, tomato, spinach, whole or spelt), being the tomato one really good. And the recipes? All their stars: Santa Lupina, Santa Clara or Santa Genoveva offer very interesting combinations!
We almost always buy to take away since the place does not have tables, only stools and a bar top.
